Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) Q....... Is this the same thing as the old osso.org website? A....... YES and NO, it is for the same exact purpose. The only real difference is that this one looks different, and it is currently operated by a staff of four (osso.org was operated by only one person, limiting the time they could spend on the website). This site is by no means better, or worse than osso.org, it is just operated differently. Q....... Is this site also going to shut down eventually? A....... No, this site is going to stay here no matter what. This site, the domain name, the hosting service is actually owned by the AXP Board. This means that no one person can shut this site down for any reason UNLESS the AXP Board decides to do so. Since everyone on this board is a volunteer, I highly doubt this will ever happen! Q....... You said that the AXP Board owns this site, what does this mean for us? A....... What this means is that essentially, YOU elect the AXP President, then in turn, the AXP President picks his/her board members. So ultimately, YOU, the members OWN this site! Q.......What if something happens to this site without our approval (or the approval of the President)? A....... We hope this will never happen, but if it does, the original designer has a complete copy of the website (minus any new photos, or messages, or members etc.). SO, in the very rare event this does happen, the current president, board members, or authorized person need only contact the original designer for a complete backup copy. The board members and current president will also retain a complete copy of the website in source form (further protects from anything happening to the website) Q.......This website doesn't seem to be working for me, what do I do? A....... First, see the tech support area (top left) and email the current webmaster(s) and they will promptly return your email and offer possible solutions. Please keep in mind that although we would love to be able to support EVERY operating system, EVERY internet browser, etc., we cannot. We designed this website to operate great, using ANY operating system running Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 (or higher) or Netscape Navigator 6.0 (or higher). We have tested a few other Internet Browsers, but the ones listed here work the best. In most cases, you can obtain a copy of one of these browsers from going to either www.microsoft.com or www.netscape.com respectively. Q....... I have tried everything you said to try, but it STILL isn't working. What now? A....... Upgrade to a new computer. If your problem STILL exists, then it is likely that you have a major problem with your computer/operating system. The best way to solve this problem is to upgrade one of the two (or both). You may also attempt to contact the computer manufacturer to see if they offer any assistance. Q.......I don't like the colors, what can I do about that? A....... Right now, probably nothing. You can go buy a black and white monitor and see if that will make it view better for you (highly doubt it). Sorry. Q....... My question isn't listed here, what do I do now? A....... Simple! Send an email to one of our Webmaster and they will do their best to help! When you do this, please be VERY specific with your question (i.e. "it doesn't work" is NOT a good choice for a question, whereas "The news on the right doesn't work for me, I just get a small link to click on, what do I do?" is a great example). |
